Our soap bar recipes are founded on a balanced blend of olive oil, babassu oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter. We choose organic ingredients wherever we can. Together they create a gentle, solid bar that cleanses effectively without stripping the skin. Babassu oil is selected over the more common coconut oil for its lighter feel, milder cleansing action, and perhaps most importantly, more ethical sourcing. The result is a gentle, creamy, stable lather suitable for everyday use.
Every OUMA bar is hand made in small batches in our workshop in the Netherlands. The bars are cured for at least six weeks, a slow process that optimizes hardness, longevity, and lather.
Our porcelain soap dishes too, are each made by hand in the Netherlands, and specifically designed to extend the life of the bar, with its deep ridges allowing the soap to dry evenly between uses.
